AS A CAMPING CONSUMER who uses credit cards when camping (or at any other time), it is important that you urge your members of Congress to support the Credit Card Competition Act!
The Credit Card Competition Act aims to foster a competitive environment within the credit card market and reduce transaction fees. This legislation mandates the inclusion of dual network options for most credit cards, thereby empowering small-scale merchants to select the network with more favorable transaction fees. The introduction of competition into the market will allow campground (and all other) businesses to negotiate these interchange fees and will SAVE YOU MONEY!
The bipartisan "Credit Card Competition Act" brings commonsense competition to the credit card market. Under the legislation, the nation’s largest banks that issue credit cards are simply required to enable a second, secure network on which to route transactions.
Requiring more than one network will foster competition and security – bringing down the cost of swipe fees, increasing transparency of terms, and encouraging innovative services and fraud protection. The Credit Card Competition Act is an important step in mitigating the hidden swipe fees paid by merchants and consumers. Hidden swipe fees negatively impact U.S. consumers, artificially driving up the prices they pay for everyday goods and services.
Please join us (and President Trump) in urging Congress to support the bipartisan "Credit Card Competition Act!" Enacting this important legislation will help main street businesses and consumers across the country.
Thank you for your support!
Trump on Truth Social (1/12/26): “Everyone should support great Republican Senator Roger Marshall’s Credit Card Competition Act, in order to stop the out-of-control Swipe Fee ripoff”
