Background:
ONS needs your help to advance H.R. 4425/S. 2287, the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA). This bipartisan bill was reintroduced by Representatives Buddy Carter (R-GA) and Ami Bera (D-CA) and Senators Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV). This bill has three main components (1) Education, (2) Public Awareness, and (3) Research. If passed, this bill would provide funding to expand the palliative care and hospice workforce, establish a public awareness campaign around palliative care for patients and providers, and direct the NIH to expand palliative care research.
