Ohio House Bill 721 would establish the Veterans Organization Grant Program. Under the bill, qualifying veterans organizations could receive an annual grant of up to $1,000 to help fund events honoring veterans or provide Veterans with basic necessities, including food.
For a local Veterans Organization, $1,000 can make a meaningful difference. It could help stock a food pantry, support an outreach event, provide needed supplies, or ensure that Veterans in the community receive assistance when they need it.
HB 721 has been referred to the Ohio House Veterans and Military Development Committee but has not yet received a hearing. Because the original funding language references fiscal years 2026 and 2027, it may also need to be updated as the bill moves through the legislative process.
Please take a moment to contact your State Representative. Ask them to support HB 721, encourage the committee to hold a hearing, and help update the funding language so this program can move forward.
Ohio’s Veterans Organizations have a long record of serving others. Now we have an opportunity to help provide them with additional resources to continue that service.
