Support and Amend House Bill 1633 on Noncompete Clauses
Recently, the PA House Health Committee approved House Bill 1633, legislation that would prohibit the use of noncompete provisions in physician employment contracts. The bill now awaits consideration by the full House of Representatives.

PAMED applauds Representative Dan Frankel for introducing this bill that would help address physician shortage concerns and ensure continuity of care for patients across the Commonwealth. However, PAMED would also like to see House Bill 1633 amended to effectively address the interest of small independent physician practices to protect against entities seeking to "poach" established community physicians from local medical practices.

We ask that you contact your legislator to share your support of House Bill 1633 and also to seek an amendment to protect independent physician practices.
