Dismemberment abortions are still legal in South Carolina. But with your help, the Senate can outlaw this disgusting procedure before the end of this legislative session.
In order for the Senate to take up this life saving bill, it must be given "special order." This is where we need your help.
If you have a Republican Senator, please ask that he or she request special order through the Rules Committee for the Dismemberment Abortion Ban (H.3548). You will be given a phone script or a pre-written email message for your convenience.
This bill, sponsored by Rep. Lin Bennett, would ban a procedure often called a "d and e" abortion. The description of the procedure in the bill is as follows: an abortion that would "dismember a living unborn child and extract him or her one piece at a time from the uterus through use of clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors or similar instruments that, through the convergence of two rigid levers, slice, crush, and/or grasp a portion of the unborn child's body to cut or rip it off."
We must stop this gruesome procedure from being performed in South Carolina.
We need YOU to ask your Senator to request special order for the dismemberment abortion ban so that it can be taken up by the full Senate.
Will you do your part to end dismemberment abortions in South Carolina? Find out who your senator is, and take action now to save the unborn in South Carolina!
