End Human Sex Trafficking In South Carolina!

Most South Carolinians would be surprised to hear that hundreds of victims are trafficked, exploited and abused everyday right here in the Palmetto State. Though it may be shocking, it is sadly true. Sexual slavery is a major problem in South Carolina.

In nearly every case, victims do not choose to be involved in commercial sex and prostitution -- instead victims are coerced into sexual slavery as children. The FBI reports that the average age at which a prostitute first experiences paid sex is 12-years-old. Having known no other life than one full of forced drug addiction and physical abuse, the victim of sexual slavery has little or no way to escape.

This fact helps explain why law enforcement's approach of focusing on arresting prostitutes (the victims) has done little to curb the business of commercial sex. Prostitutes and the victims of sexual slavery do not drive the commercial sex industry. Rather, those who purchase paid sex perpetuate the problem. In other words, if no one solicited sex, no one would be needed to service that demand.

Help us halt this dehumanizing industry in its tracks! Sign this petition today to tell your legislators and your fellow South Carolinians that we need to end sexual slavery in South Carolina today!
