Contact Your Legislators in Support of the Senate ARPA Plan
Dear First Name

We urgently need your help TODAY to secure millions of dollars in funding for student loan repayment for human services workers and recruitment and retention incentives to help strengthen our sector.

The Legislature is currently working on plans to spend American Rescue Plan Act funding, and the Senate plan includes $55 million in an account for human services -- $30 million would go toward a student loan repayment program, while $25 million would be allocated for recruitment and retention incentives. The House plan does not include this funding.

The House and Senate are currently working out differences between their two plans, and we need you to urge your local legislators to support line item 1599-2027 in the Senate ARPA spending plan that includes funding for human services workers.

We have already drafted a message on the following page for you to send to your state representative and state senator – simply insert your address, and our Action Center will do the rest! If you want, you may alter your letter to discuss how this is a personal issue for you.

Please fill out your name and address in the fields on the right to send your letter to legislators. Feel free to add your own personal story to the letter as well.

Please help us advocate for the Senate version of line item 1599-2027 and make student loan repayment and recruitment/retention initiatives a reality for all in the human services sector.

Best,

Caroline O'Neill
