On November 12th, Congress passed, and President Trump passed a short-term spending bill, ending a 43-day government shutdown and funding the government until January 30, 2026. This means that important programs and policies that support access to sexual and reproductive health care such as TPP, Title X amd PREP are funded at previous levels for FY26. When policymakers return in January, it's critical that they finalize FY26 appropriations bills and increase funding to programs that support reproductive well-being. Specifically, policymakers must:
- Provide continued funding and support for the Title X Family Planning Program;
- Provide continued funding and support for the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program;
- Eliminate funding for the harmful Sexual Risk Avoidance Program;
- Remove anti-abortion policy riders such as the Hyde and Weldon Amendments; and
- Including health extenders to reauthorize programs like the Personal Responsibility and Education Program (PREP).
Together, these policies and programs work to expand access to care for all. Contact your legislators and tell them to support and protect these and other programs that support reproductive well-being in final FY26 appropriations.
