The Reeve Foundation is pleased to share that because of the steadfast advocacy of our dedicated advocates, Congress has rejected these proposed cuts and fully funded the Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) at the current funding level of $10.7 million for programs that are vital to people living with paralysis.
Our community acted, and Congress listened!
The PRC is a free, comprehensive, national source of support for people living with paralysis and their caregivers. Since its founding in 2002, the PRC has helped hundreds of thousands of people through cross-state resources, peer-to-peer mentoring and direct support. The PRC also directs funds to nonprofit organizations providing direct services in communities across the country through the Quality of Life grants program, helping all individuals impacted by paralysis live more independent lives. It is the only program of its kind in the country.
The Reeve Foundation is thankful to every one of our dedicated Regional Champions and Online Advocates for Change, for letting Congress know that they can’t ignore the voices of the paralysis community, and we would not be complacent as life-changing programs like the PRC are dismantled from the federal budget.
You can act now and reach out to your legislators to thank them for opposing the drastic cuts and fully funding the PRC this fiscal year. Once again, thank you for your advocacy work over the last year. We’ll be continuing to call on you as Congress begins the Fiscal Year 2027 process and other policy considerations this year.
Your voice matters.
