Support Expanded Hunting and Fishing on Public Lands!
Yesterday, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed the largest ever expansion of hunting and fishing access on National Wildlife Refuges—with 1,450+ new opportunities across 111 federal sites.  SCI applauds this historic expansion and the tremendous opportunities that it provides for hunters and anglers around the country, including the first-ever hunting or sport fishing opportunities at 14 refuges and three hatcheries.  With this rule, over 95% of the National Wildlife Refuge System will be available for hunting.

This proposal directly advances the priorities that SCI has repeatedly championed to the Service on behalf of our members.  It also builds on Secretarial Order 3447, reaffirming the indispensable role hunters and anglers play in American conservation: protecting habitat, managing wildlife populations, and providing the majority of funding that sustains conservation programs nationwide.

SCI supports the Service's proposal, and we are calling on YOU to support it as well.

Sportsmen and women don’t just talk about conservation.  We fund it.  We defend it.  We live it.

Submit your comment in support of this expansion to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  Where possible, please identify the National Wildlife Refuge or National Fish Hatchery where you hunt, and describe how expanded hunting seasons, species, acres, and harvest methods will benefit you and your family.

Thank you for doing your part to open and expand hunting and fishing on the National Wildlife Refuge System!
