CalFresh (SNAP) remains the most effective hunger-relief tool in the United States. But drastic cuts made through HR1 put this critical lifeline at risk and will make it harder for many San Diegans to afford nutritious food. This comes at a time of significant rising costs when many are finding it harder to make ends meet, even while employed. In fact, according to the United Way of San Diego County and United Ways of California, 97% of San Diego County households unable to make basic living costs have at least one working adult.
Our two U.S. Senators, Senator Padilla and Schiff have continued to support efforts to roll back these cuts and stand up for San Diegans who must rely on food assistance. We are asking you to join us in thanking them for their leadership and continued support.
Take Action: Thank our Senators for standing up for Californians who need food assistance and supporting efforts to roll back the harmful cuts made by HR1.
