California Voters Support Inclusion
Since 2016, the State of California has supported Special Olympics California programs with funding from the State budget. This vital State of California funding enables Special Olympics California to deliver essential inclusive health, education, fitness, and sports programs to over 64,000 Californians with intellectual disabilities throughout all 58 California counties.
Brave in the Attempt
Last year, many of our supporters sent letters to the CA State Legislature to support Special Olympics California. We were not included, and our budgets were decimated without the state’s multi-million dollar support. But we were blown away by the passion, commitment, and urgency our community demonstrated. Thousands signed their names to support our work. That Special Olympics spirit helped us through a difficult year as we continued to deliver much needed resources to our athletes!
