Tell AG Hanaway to Withdraw Missouri from Texas v. Kennedy
Missouri is one of only seven states still involved in a Texas v. Kennedy, a lawsuit threatening federal disability rights protections under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

The lawsuit challenges a 2024 federal rule that reinforces the right of people with disabilities to receive services in their communities rather than institutions. You may know this principle as “Olmstead,” and it has been upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court and enforced for decades. Two states (Indiana and South Dakota) have already withdrawn. Missouri should do the same.

If this lawsuit succeeds, it will be harder for Missourians with disabilities to challenge systems that fail to support community living. This is a critical opportunity for advocacy for service providers, people with disabilities, and their families. Now is the time to act.

Please fill out this form to send a message to Attorney General Catherine Hanaway urging Missouri to withdraw from this lawsuit. Feel free to personalize your message.

Thank you!
