Senators Reed (D-RI) and Young (R-IN) have introduced the Adult Education Workforce Opportunity and Reskilling for Knowledge and Success Act (Adult Education Works Act,  Senate Bill 5202) to improve WIOA and AEFL for participants in adult education, including multilingual learners of English (MLE). This Act doubles funding, supports professionalization of the field, incorporates digital and information literacy, and provides support for college and career navigators.
