Congress has already authorized up to 64,716 supplemental H-2B visas for Fiscal Year 2027. But DHS and the Department of Labor still haven’t released them, and every week of delay makes it harder for Texas nursery and landscape businesses to plan for the season ahead.
Bipartisan groups in the House and Senate are urging the Administration to act now. Your Representative and Senators need to hear from you before the deadlines to sign on.
The Ask
- U.S. House: Sign Rep. Andy Harris’s letter calling for the release of all 64,716 supplemental H-2B visas. Deadline: Wednesday, October 28.
- U.S. Senate: Sign the letter led by Sens. Angus King and Mike Rounds calling for the maximum allowable supplemental allocation. Deadline: Monday, October 26.
Why It Matters to Texas’ Green Industry
When seasonal employers can’t find enough available American workers, H-2B fills the gap. Without it, installations get delayed, maintenance contracts go unserved, and growth stalls. That puts the full-time American jobs that depend on those businesses at risk too.
Supplemental visas only help if they arrive in time. Every week without a decision means less certainty for hiring, scheduling, and committing to customers.
