Action Center
This week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the 33,000 H-2B visa cap for the second half of the fiscal year was reached on February 12. This means, without action by the Department of Homeland Security, all remaining companies will be capped out for FY 2021. We need your help TODAY to encourage Congress and the Administration to provide immediate H-2B cap relief.
In December, Congress passed, and the President signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. This legislation includes a provision that provides the DHS with the discretionary authority to release an additional 64,716 H-2B visas when a bona fide need has been demonstrated. We need your help to encourage DHS to make those additional visas immediately available to seasonal businesses.
Please take a few minutes to do the following:
- Call your two Senators and your Representative and encourage them to ask the Secretary of Homeland Security to release all of the 64,716 authorized H-2B visas. You can reach you elected officials through the Congressional switchboard at (202) 225-3121. One connected to the office, ask to speak to the staff person who handles immigration issues.
- Email your elected officials by using the portal to the left.
