We are pleased that our unified advocacy has produced a substantial proposed investment in ID/A services in Pennsylvania. During his budget address, Governor Shapiro announced that he is proposing a remarkable investment in ID/A Services in PA for increased rates, supplemental payments, and more capacity to address the waiting list.
Governor Shapiro and his administration have demonstrated commitment and leadership in supporting our community. From meeting with individuals and their families to honoring our request last summer to conduct a rate review and now proposing a substantial financial investment in the ID/A system as part of his 2024-25 Budget Proposal, he has established a real path forward for our future success.
The work is far from over. But this first step, to be included in the budget proposal, is a strong acknowledgment of the reality that many families and individuals with ID/A face every day.
Please visit the TPA Action Center to learn more and take a moment to thank the Governor directly. We encourage you to add your own comments and tell the Governor what this investment will mean to you and the people you serve. Thank you!
