Take Action on the PA Budget to Save Lives

RAC-PA's Campaign to End Gun Violence is focused on passing key life saving gun safety legislation in the PA Senate & House. Right alongside these bills, our partner CeaseFirePA has been working to secure more funding to combat gun violence in the state.

Governor Shapiro just proposed investing $100 million to help stop the flow of illegal guns, support community based programs and create the first-ever Office of Gun Violence Prevention, all efforts RAC-PA fully supports as part of the overall goal of our campaign- to end gun violence in PA.

This is a big deal, but without your voice, it could get cut by the General Assembly. That’s precisely what happened last year--Senate Republicans slashed the amount to just $40 million, endangering community-centered violence prevention programs that reduced gun homicides by 20% in Philadelphia and 27% in Pittsburgh.

So while we are working to send our message loud and clear to Senate Leadership about HB 1018 & HB 714, take the time today to tell your legislators to invest in a budget that will combat gun violence!

With 1,900 lives lost in 2022 and thousands more injured by firearms, we need the General Assembly to know public safety is a top priority.
