The Time is Now: Protect Pregnant Workers
In roughly half of American households, women are the primary breadwinners and an estimated 72 percent of female workers will become pregnant during the course of their careers. Yet, there is no nationwide guarantee for simple accommodations like access to a stool or water bottle for pregnant or postpartum workers.

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) would change this by ensuring that workers have access to accommodations for pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions, including lactation. 

No one should be forced to choose between their paycheck and their family; we must pass the PWFA now to ensure all pregnant and postpartum workers in the U.S. can access the simple but medically necessary accommodations they need. Write your senators to urge them to prioritize the needs of pregnant and postpartum workers and pass the bipartisan Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (S. 1486/H.R. 1065)!
