The government is proposing a new, optional insurance system for the treatment of infertility. This system includes coverage for IVF - which kills or freezes even more preborn children than abortion. Infertility can be a heartbreaking experience for many couples and they deserve both pastoral and medical support, but IVF is not the solution.
There is a chance IVF could be removed from the proposal, while keeping the opportunity for improved coverage of real health care that aims to heal the underlying, root causes of couples’ infertility.
