"Respect for Marriage Act" disrespects Marriage and Religious Freedom
The U.S. Senate is expected to soon consider the "Respect for Marriage Act," a poorly-named bill that further undermines the truth of marriage and harms religious freedom.  There is a serious risk that this bill could secure the necessary votes to pass.  Your voice is urgently needed to tell your U.S. senators to vote "No" on the "Respect for Marriage Act."

All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. But, as Pope Francis has said, children have a right to a mother and a father, and we must never stop advocating for marriage, in which children do best. In response to the life-saving overturning of Roe v. Wade, Congress should instead step up to prioritize policies to assist women and children in need.

The Respect for Marriage Act would put Congress’s rubber-stamp on the Supreme Court’s ruling that imposed same-sex marriage and fails to address the grave religious freedom threats that ruling created. In fact, it increases the risk that the government will punish people like small business wedding vendors and faith-based foster care agencies who serve their communities. Please tell your U.S. senators to vote "No."
