When communicating with lawmakers, it is important to demonstrate the value and expertise of AKC and its clubs, and the AKC Legislative Action Center has a number of resources available to help.
Most recently, AKC Government Relations has added a new fact sheet to the AKC Legislative Action Center Toolbox that provides some basic bullet points and information on the AKC Inspections Program.
This new fact sheet is a resource you can use when introducing the AKC to lawmakers, as it demonstrates our commitment to the dogs registered with us, and our efforts to provide education to help breeders raise sound, healthy purebred dogs.
The AKC Inspections Program is one of the most important and unique initiatives offered by the AKC. AKC is the only all-breed registry in the United States to conduct its own inspections of registrants to ensure the care of dogs and the integrity of the AKC registry. Since its inception, AKC has conducted over 80,000 kennel inspections across the United States, educating breeders and ensuring the health and welfare of AKC-registered dogs.
AKC Government Relations encourages you to use this fact sheet, along with the handout AKC Above and Beyond, which provides a list of the many programs and initiatives that AKC and our clubs support to promote the care of dogs and responsible dog ownership.
