End Chinese Communist Profiting from Religious Persecution - S. 65
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is a ruthlessly oppressive, violent regime that treats all religious individuals as threats to the power of the State.
The CCP has over captured over a million religious individuals and condemned them to forced labor in concentration / indoctrination camps.
This legislation will ensure that goods made with forced labor in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China do not enter the United States market.
As Rep. Frank Wolf (ret.) has explained, "In what has been described as having increasing echoes of Nazi Germany, the Chinese Communist Party has ... practiced forced sterilization of women, repeating Nazi eugenics practices for those the regime considered undesirable. The Chinese Communist Party is using tactics including arresting people for praying or going to a worship service, forbidding the use of religious names for children, destroying religious buildings, and more. While these tactics are impacting people of many different religious beliefs and backgrounds, including Christians, Tibetan Buddhists, Falun Gong practitioners, and more, the world’s attention has rightly expanded to also consider the plight of the Uyghur Muslim community."
As China plots to expand its worldwide reach and influence, condemnation of these human rights abuses can shine a light on China's dark and violent practices and engage the international community in pressuring the regime to cease its ruthless persecution.
