Support HR 2236-The Forage Fish Conservation Act
Forage fish such as herring, shad, anchovies and sardines act as prey for countless species such as whales, birds, striped bass, tuna and bluefish. These precious fish are being swept out of our oceans at an alarmingly fast pace due to lack of regulations for capturing them. The Forage Fish Conservation Act (H.R. 2236) would enact catch limits and sustainably manage the use of these fish.
Forage fish are the foundation of marine life and it is vital that they have protection. Without them, recreational fishing would suffer greatly, and coastal communities would take a massive hit. If passed, H.R. 2236 would immediately benefit fishermen and women, businesses and the well-being of our oceans.

It is crucial to marine life that forage fish are left unbothered, and with the Forage Fish Conservation Act, we can save them before fisheries turn them into livestock, pet food and fertilizer, so they can return to serving their natural purpose of supporting our ecosystem. These tiny fish make a significant impact on the wildlife we love. The time to protect them is now.
