But, in one new public library, in Indianapolis - the West Perry branch - such sexualized content has been found on practically every shelf of the Children's Section of the library. [See evidence pictured above and below.]
This is flat-out wrong! The Children's Section of a public library should be off-limits for the promotion of sexualized content, including LGBT materials.
Please CONTACT your Indiana General Assembly Members (as well as the Governor and Attorney General) today, and urge them to make and pass legislation which would make the Children's Section of public libraries off-limits for sexualized content.
The West Perry Branch of the Indianapolis system of public libraries is probably among the worst offenders because, according to the 'Indy Star,' the Children's Section librarian, Shelby G., who identifies as "pansexual," and Computer Assistant Dan A., who identifies as bisexual, set-up the display units in the Children's Section with apparently no objection from senior librarians.
But, while fellow staff allowed the "everything-goes" displays to go up without opposition, one local mother of 6 impressionable young children DID object to the sexualized content displayed throughout the Children's Section.

Maria H. (the concerned mother), who, with her husband Daniel, runs the Spanish-language Life and Family 'Daniel y Maria Online' website, requested help about the appalling situation in their local library on their Facebook page.
And, that request was shared more than 30,000 times!
BUT, it's time we bring this to the attention of our state legislators, and urge them to take action to protect minors from sexualized content in the Children's Section of publicly-funded libraries across the state.
If we don't push back now, this model - of forcing sexualized content on our children - could well become the norm, rather than the exception.
We simply must oppose the imposition of sexualized materials in the Children's Section of our public libraries because children cannot consent for themselves in such matters, and because the state - and, therefore, public libraries as an extension of the state - must allow parents to be the first educator to their children where sexual mores are concerned.
It is deeply inappropriate and wrong for public libraries to set themselves as dispensers of information and advice which only parents are entitled to give to their children.
The message we are sending to Indiana General Assembly Members is simple: Make and pass laws prohibiting sexualized content, including LGBT materials, in the Children's Section of Indiana's public libraries. And, should any public libraries defy such laws, defund them.
