Oppose Devastating Medicaid Cuts!
The House recently adopted a reconciliation bill (PDF) that includes important first steps to stabilize Medicare physician payments, however, we are deeply concerned with the impact that other provisions in the legislation will have on our ability to continue to care for our most vulnerable patients.

The reconciliation bill includes some Medicaid and ACA provisions that could create new barriers (PDF) for eligible patients seeking coverage. Currently, Medicaid and CHIP provide access to critical health care services for almost 80 million Americans.

These changes would disproportionately impact rural and underserved areas, and we urge Congress to ensure that efforts to curb fraud and abuse do not result in loss of access to care for millions of patients.

In addition, the bill as currently drafted, would limit access to medical school loans and loan forgiveness programs—threatening the future of our physician workforce at a time of growing need.

If the Senate fails to strengthen the legislation by preserving Medicaid and ACA protections, millions of our country's most vulnerable patients are at risk of losing the access to care they so desperately need.

Now is the time to act! Please take a moment to contact your Senators today and urge them to improve the reconciliation bill by:

  • Preserving access to Medicaid and ACA coverage for eligible individuals
  • Protecting medical education loan and forgiveness programs to strengthen the future physician workforce
  • Including support for long-term, inflation-adjusted Medicare payment reform.

Contact your Senators today! Tell them to protect the health of America by protecting access to Medicaid, Medicare and strengthening the physician workforce.
