Tell Congress: Support Breastfeeding, Strengthen Our Nation’s Health
Breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to improve infant and maternal health outcomes while also addressing broader public health concerns such as early childhood nutrition and chronic disease prevention. Yet too many families face unnecessary barriers to starting and sustaining breastfeeding.

The CDC’s Hospitals Promoting Breastfeeding program plays a critical role in changing that by improving maternity care practices and expanding access to lactation support in hospitals, communities, and workplaces across the country. These proven, cost-effective interventions deliver lifelong benefits to children, parents, and public health. But current funding falls far short of what is necessary to adequately support families nationwide.

Now is the time to act. Use this tool to urge lawmakers to increase funding for breastfeeding support in the federal budget. With your help, we can reach every Senator and Representative and urge them to do their part to ensure every family gets the support they need to give their babies the healthiest start in life. Take action today!
