Join Over 80 health organizations in calling on Congress to make investments in climate and health
The moment for transformative climate action in Congress is finally here. That’s why 83 organizations in the health care and public health community released a joint letter to Congressional leaders on September 8th outlining the priorities that we know will most benefit our nation’s health.

Join us in sending this investment priorities letter and a pre-filled email to your representatives in Congress by completing the brief form to the right >>>

We need your help in amplifying the health community’s message: major investments are needed to protect and promote health in response to the climate crisis.

You can also use the form on the right to quickly Tweet the letter directly to your representatives (if you have an account or would like to create one).

In line with the 2019 Call to Action on Climate, Health, and Equity: A Policy Action Agenda endorsed by nearly 200 organizations, the letter asks Congress to prioritize investments that:

1. Do no harm to the health of people now or in future generations

2. Advance health equity and environmental justice

3. Strengthen health care and public health infrastructure, capacity, and climate resilience

4. Foster a rapid transition to clean, non-combustion renewable energy

5. Promote active and non-polluting forms of transportation

6. Provide parks and greenspace, trees and urban forestry, and green infrastructure

7. Build community resilience to climate change

8. Ensure access to clean and affordable drinking water for all

9. Build healthy and sustainable food and agricultural systems

10. Enable an equitable economic recovery and ensure a just transition to a green economy

We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to protect and promote health in the era of climate change by encouraging policymakers to embrace these priorities. Join your colleagues in sending this message to Congress >>>

Mona Sarfaty
