What's being voted on
S.J.Res. 138 blocks sale of 12,000 1,000-pound bombs ($151.8M) to Israel.
S.J.Res. 32 blocks sale of Caterpillar D9 bulldozers ($295M) being used to demolish civilian homes in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon and are the same ones used to kill Rachel Corrie in 2003.
Two additional JRDs (S.J.Res. 136 & 137) would block 5,000 250-lb and 10,000 500-lb bombs = another $507M in weapons.
Why it matters
These weapons are documented to have been used against civilians in Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon. US law (the Arms Export Control Act and Foreign Assistance Act) prohibits supplying weapons to governments using them for these purposes. The Trump administration bypassed congressional oversight to rush these sales through — for the fourth time since January 2025. A 60% majority of Americans, and 75% of Democrats, oppose sending more weapons to Israel.
