Tell Lawmakers to Stop Taxing Food!
This past spring, the Legislature passed and Gov. Bob Ferguson signed into law the largest tax increase in state history. In addition to a B&O tax increase, the Legislature also added a surcharge on food wholesalers.

When combined, the tax increases represent a double hit to consumers, who ultimately pay the added costs on food.

This coming session in Olympia, WFIA will urge the Legislature to reconsider the tax on food, but lawmakers need to hear from you and your customers directly!

Please take a moment to review the message. Then, contact Gov. Ferguson and your legislators. Ask them to support the effort to exempt wholesale sales of food/grocery products from the B&O surcharge, just like they did for retail in the original bill.

We encourage you to share this message with other business owners, family and friends.
