U.S. Senate Must Act to Extend Affordable Care Act Tax Credits!

The U.S. House of Representatives has acted. Now it’s the Senate’s turn to finish the job.

Starting in January, families across our state saw steep premium increases when the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced Premium Tax Credits were allowed to lapse. For some, monthly costs jumped by hundreds of dollars, forcing impossible choices between health care, rent, groceries, and utilities.

But it’s not too late to fix this.

Last week, the U.S. House passed a bipartisan bill to extend the ACA’s enhanced Premium Tax Credits, a proven lifeline that helps 20 million people nationwide afford coverage, including more than 60,000 West Virginians. If the Senate acts quickly, Congress can lower premiums for the rest of the year and extend the enrollment period so families who were priced out can get covered again.

If the Senate fails to act, premiums will remain unaffordable and thousands more could lose coverage altogether.

Call and email your U.S. Senators today and tell them:

Extend the ACA Premium Tax Credit enhancements with no delays, no cuts and give families relief now.

These tax credits work. 77% of Americans support extending them. A majority of Senators already agree. What’s missing is leadership and urgency.

The Senate must act now to lower costs, protect coverage, and put people’s health first.

Call and email your Senators today. Your voice can make the difference.
