While it may sound well-intentioned, the reality is costly and uncertain. SJ 37 creates vague legal standards that open the door to lawsuits against businesses, infrastructure projects, and even routine government decisions.
That means delays, legal battles, and higher costs that will ultimately be passed on to Connecticut families.
Energy development, housing construction, and job-creating projects could all face new legal challenges, making it harder and more expensive to build in our state.
Because this is a constitutional amendment, it would be permanent and difficult to change, giving courts and outside groups greater control over policy decisions.
At a time when Connecticut is already too expensive, SJ 37 makes things worse.
Tell your legislators: Vote NO on SJ 37.
