Tell Ways & Means: Advance H.R. 8163 to Protect Patient Access
Physicians are being pushed to the breaking point, and patients are already feeling the impact.
Medicare physician payment has declined 33% since 2001 (adjusted for inflation), while the cost of delivering care continues to rise.
The result:
- Fewer physicians accepting Medicare patients
- Independent practice closures and consolidation
- Reduced access to care, especially in rural communities
The problem isn’t just low reimbursement, it’s an unstable system built on repeated, unpredictable cuts.
This week, the House Ways & Means Committee can help change that.
The bipartisan Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163) would:
- Reduce harmful payment cuts
- Bring stability and predictability to physician reimbursement
- Modernize outdated Medicare payment policies
- Help protect patient access to care
Congress must act before more physicians are forced out of practice and more patients lose access to care.
Contact your Members of Congress and ask them to urge House Ways & Means Committee members to support and advance HR 8163.
