Physicians are being pushed to the breaking point, and patients are already feeling the impact. 

Medicare physician payment has declined 33% since 2001 (adjusted for inflation), while the cost of delivering care continues to rise. 

The result:

• Fewer physicians accepting Medicare patients
• Independent practice closures and consolidation 
• Reduced access to care, especially in rural communities

The problem isn’t just low reimbursement, it’s an unstable system built on repeated, unpredictable cuts. 

This week, the House Ways & Means Committee can help change that. 

The bipartisan Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163) would:

• Reduce harmful payment cuts 
• Bring stability and predictability to physician reimbursement
• Modernize outdated Medicare payment policies
• Help protect patient access to care

Congress must act before more physicians are forced out of practice and more patients lose access to care.
