New Jersey: Urge your Senator to Support S 3394 - Food Allergen Disclosure in Restaurants
More than 950,000 New Jersey residents live with food allergies. Yet restaurants are not required to clearly disclose which menu items contain major food allergens. As a result, dining out remains extremely challenging for people with food allergies.

S 3394 would require restaurants to provide written disclosure of the top 9 food allergens in menu items. Restaurants would have flexibility in how information is shared—on menus, digitally, or through allergen guides—making it easier for families to make safe dining choices.

Food allergies are a growing public health concern. Accidental exposure can cause anaphylaxis and, in rare cases, death. Restaurants account for a significant share of serious food allergy reactions. Clear allergen information can prevent emergencies, reduce fear for families, and allow children and adults with food allergies to participate fully in everyday life.

Take action today and tell your New Jersey Senator to support S 3394.
