Act now: Tell Congress to fix 2025 Medicare payment cut
It is crucial for lawmakers to hear from you to ensure that action is taken to address the Medicare payment cut that went into effect on Jan. 1.

The Academy has been working with the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons and other physician organizations to secure Congressional action to address these cuts.

As part of this effort, the Academy is supporting S. 1640/ H.R. 879, the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act. This legislation, introduced by ophthalmology’s Congressional champions in both the House and the Senate, seeks to eliminate the 2.8% cut to 2025 Medicare physician payment and provide an inflationary update to Medicare payments for the rest of this year.

Make sure your voice is heard. Contact your members of Congress and urge them to ask Congressional leaders to include S.1640/ H.R. 879 in a must-pass bill.
