Urge Your lawmakers to Cosponsor the Newly Reintroduced Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (Seniors’ Act)
Acting as a continuing resource for your federal legislators is one of the ways that Congressional Advocacy Day (CAD) participants like you can strengthen your relationships with lawmakers and continue advocating for ophthalmology after returning home from Washington, D.C.

During CAD, you educated your lawmakers and their staff on the burdens of prior authorization and urged them to cosponsor the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (Seniors’ Act) upon its reintroduction. The Academy is pleased to share that the bill has now been formally reintroduced in both the House and Senate.

You can use the Academy's advocacy tool to contact your lawmakers and encourage them to cosponsor the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (S. 1816/H.R. 3514). You can also customize your email message to share any personal insights on how prior authorization burdens negatively impact your practice, staff, and patients.

For any questions, email M.T. Fogarty, Academy grassroots specialist, at mtfogarty@aao.org or call 202.587.5826.
