H.R. 2713, the Improving Care and Access to Nurses Act, would inappropriately expand the scope of practice for NPs and other APRNs, removing supervision requirements for some nonphysician providers and expanding the types of services APRNs are allowed to provide under the Medicare and Medicaid program. Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries deserve care led by physicians, the most highly educated, trained, and skilled healthcare providers, and this legislation would effectively remove physicians from the care team for many patients.
Contact your U.S. Representative today to alert them to the House of Medicine’s patient safety concerns with H.R. 2713 and urge them to oppose this legislation.
