Sign the Petition Opposing Sen. Hawley’s Labor Policy Framework!
On Jan. 10, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., introduced a labor policy legislative framework that includes sections of the harmful Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, including provisions on ambush elections, banning so-called captive audience meetings and government interference in private contracts. Sen. Hawley plans to introduce his framework as separate bills.

One of these bills, “Supporting Initial Union Contracts,” has already been introduced by Hawley as the Faster Labor Standards Act and received support from Sens. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, Cory Booker, D-N.J., Gary Peters, D-Mich., and Jeff Merkley, D-Ore. The bill would impose unrealistic, arbitrary deadlines requiring employers to reach an agreement in first contract negotiations with newly elected unions or face “binding interest arbitration,” which eviscerates “voluntary agreement,” a primary tenet of U.S. labor law.  Under mandatory arbitration, contracts would be imposed on workers, employers and unions with no vote on the final product.

The proposed labor policy framework introduced by Sen. Josh Hawley threatens the fundamental rights of employers and employees to negotiate freely and fairly. It is critical that we stand against government overreach and protect workers' rights to negotiate in a fair and independent manner.

Join the fight against this harmful framework by signing this petition.
