The United States Senate is dragging its feet on confirming President Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees. It seems at every turn, some senators are purposely delaying votes to fill these high-level positions in government.
Of the 22 individuals nominated by President Trump, only eight have been voted on and confirmed. This is in stark contrast to the same time frame within the administrations of Barack Obama and George W. Bush.
The Senate has an obligation to promptly hold confirmation hearings and vote on Trump’s picks for Cabinet-level positions. These delays serve only to impede the president’s agenda and the service these government departments provide to the American people.
The current pace is needlessly slow and an injustice to our country.
