President Trump understands that America’s educational system is at a crossroads. That is why he wants to restore education to the states by closing the federal Department of Education. That is why he has appointed Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education. Secretary McMahon will fight for President Trump’s priorities.
The education bureaucrats, however, have a plan. They are working to undermine President Trump by pushing forward one of their own – Penny Schwinn. She is under consideration by the HELP committee to be the next Deputy Secretary of Education. In this role, Schwinn would be responsible for implementing Trump and McMahon’s directives. But if her troubling record is any indication, she will undermine and oppose their reforms.
- In Texas, Schwinn worked with radical pro-abortion groups and transgender educators for the development of “health education” standards contrary to the goals of the Trump administration.
- In Tennessee, Schwinn launched “child wellbeing checks,” which posed a threat to personal property rights and parental rights, again contrary to the principles of the Trump administration as well as the U.S. Constitution.
- Under the tutelage of Chiefs for Change (Schwinn was part of Cohort 3 in 2018), Schwinn promoted equity concepts that align with the Chiefs for Change core commitment to “woke” ideology – again, contrary to the Trump administration.
- In both Texas and Tennessee, Schwinn was directly involved in securing contracts that raise serious ethical questions and, in at least one case, violated U.S. Department of Education policies.
On top of all that, Penny Schwinn interned for radical California senator Dianne Feinstein (D)! Not only is Schwinn not a conservative, the ethical questions that have dogged her career raise a lot of red flags.
