Now, that same threat is knocking on Texas’ door – and we need your help today to stop it.
Please call your Texas House member and urge them to vote NO on SB 3.
SB 3 is moving quickly through the Texas House, having passed out of Rep. Ken King’s committee last week. King represents the conservative Texas panhandle, and this is not what his constituents want, as they’ve been paying attention to what’s going on in Oklahoma.
Right now, Texas is one of the last strongholds of common sense when it comes to marijuana policy. The Lone Star State’s laws are much more restrictive than other states – and for good reason. Marijuana legalization invites the sale of more illegal marijuana. It invites drug cartels and international criminals into local communities and onto local farms. It causes more accidents and deaths on the road.
Of course, the out-of-state BIG DRUG industry doesn’t like Texas’ limits on marijuana. Their goal? Full-on legalization of marijuana – and, ultimately, other drugs too.
Please contact your Texas House member and urge them to VOTE NO on SB 3. Ask them to reject this reckless and dangerous bill.
Please call Speaker Dustin Burrows and ask him to stop SB 3. He represents Lubbock, and his office phone number is 806-795-0635. His email is: dustin.burrows@house.texas.gov.
Texas currently has the problem of agricultural hemp being distilled into an intoxicating THC substance, basically like marijuana. Instead of dealing with this problem head-on, SB 3 repeals Texas’ current restrictions on the sale of psychoactive cannabinoids to adults and instead “regulates” them.
SB 3 doesn’t just open the door to recreational THC – it kicks the door wide open. Even worse, it hands state bureaucrats the power to create and expand a massive marijuana industry in Texas.
This bill would flood Texas communities with THC-laced drinks – all taxed to fill the state’s coffers with drug money.
This isn’t about what’s best for Texas. It’s about money – and about turning Texas into a hub for intoxication and addiction.
Texans who care about their families, churches, and communities should be gravely concerned. Once you legalize the sale of mind-altering substances, it’s incredibly hard to put that evil genie back in the bottle.
We’ve seen the results in other states: more addiction, more mental health issues, more broken families.
Please contact your Texas House member today, and call Speaker Dustin Burrows. Urge them to VOTE NO on SB 3. Let them know Texans don’t want a drug culture. We want a culture of life, faith, family, and freedom.
The time to act is now. Say NO to SB 3. Protect Texas.
