A bill in the Texas legislature, SB 205, is seeking to teach these truths to Texas students, who – as we all know – are constantly bombarded with fake news and fake science through TikTok and social media.
Unfortunately, however, the Texas House just missed an important deadline to hold hearings on SB 205. As a result, the bill is very likely dead. This pro-life bill would have required fetal-development instruction as part of the public=school health curriculum. Imagine that:, scientifically accurate instruction declaring that a baby is not merely a “clump of cells” but can feel pain, has a beating heart, and can hear in the womb.
If you would like Texas students to be taught about the sanctity of life, call Speaker Dustin Burrows at (512) 463-0542 and ask him to find a home for the SB 205 language.
SB 205 is dead because chairman Rep. Brad Buckley, who represents Bell County and Fort Cavazos in Central Texas, refused to hold even one hearing on a bill the Senate vetted carefully and passed by a vote of 26 to 4.
The bill also died because it was not a priority for Speaker Burrows.
Please call Speaker Burrows and ask him to make SB 205 a priority.

But right now, this commonsense instruction on fetal development is being denied to Texas students because leaders in the Texas House let the clock run out.
Contact Speaker Dustin Burrows at (512) 463-0542 and ask him to make sure the language from SB 205 is included in another bill.
Please also call and email your Texas House and Senate members and ask them to support the effort to pass the SB 205 language. There is still time for Texas lawmakers to act this session.
