It has been ANH’s longstanding position to support an open and fair marketplace in which consumers can decide for themselves what type of health professional best fits their needs. While many consumers may choose conventional, allopathic practitioners, many prefer holistic practitioners who apply a different approach to health and healing. Shutting out entire categories of practitioners from healthcare limits freedom of choice and hurts patient care.
It’s become painfully obvious for anyone paying attention that our healthcare system is broken. Chronic diseases—many preventable through lifestyle and dietary interventions—are at epidemic levels and continuing to worsen, exacerbated by a system that prioritizes pharmaceutical interventions over genuine health promotion. Permitting naturopathy in the state is a positive step in improving the health of Floridians.
