Big Budget Cuts Will Lead to Major Harm

The "Big Beautiful Bill" that will be a horror story for millions of Americans is moving through Congress. The Bill will leave many people uninsured and hungry. Tell your member of Congress to vote NO.

This  bill coming out of D.C. would have a devastating impact on tens of thousands of Arkansas children and families and could significantly harm our state budget, with costs shifting from the federal government to Arkansas to maintain our nutrition, health, and other programs.

What would it look like?

  • Billions of dollars cuts to Medicaid & harsh, new restrictions. We estimate that more than 140,000 Arkansans would lose their health coverage and become uninsured.
  • Billions of dollars in cuts to SNAP & harsh, new restrictions.A proposed cost shift to states could leave Arkansas footing the bill for more than $55 million in an unfunded mandate in just the first year. The Senate bill would also remove existing work requirement exemptions for veterans, people experiencing homelessness, and youth aging out of foster care.
  • A tax plan that would increase deficits by $3.3 trillion over 10 years, doing little for low- and moderate- income families.A proposed change in the Child Tax Credit would leave out more than 240,000 Arkansas children in the state’s lowest-income families, those who could use the tax credit the most to make ends meet.

Email your Congressperson now and ask them to reject the bill!
