Tell Congress to Permanently Cover Telehealth Services Under Medicare
The Expanded Telehealth Access Act (H.R. 2168/S. 3193) is legislation that would allow permanent coverage of telehealth services by audiologists and SLPs under Medicare. This coverage will enhance access to hearing, balance, speech, language, swallowing, and cognition related health care services, especially for those in rural and medically underserved areas.

Medicare coverage for audiology and speech-language pathology services delivered via telehealth should be made permanent. During the COVID-19 federal public health emergency, Congress provided the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) authority to temporarily cover key audiology and speech-language pathology telehealth services. However, that authority currently expires 151 days after the public health emergency ends.
