Contact your Senators to Support a Bipartisan Senate Farm Bill
On April 30, the House of Representatives passed a bipartisan Farm Bill that includes several priorities for the horticulture industry. The legislation strengthens specialty crop research, improves plant pest and disease programs, reauthorizes the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, enhances disaster assistance for tree and nursery growers, and supports innovation and automation to help keep our industry competitive.

The Senate Agriculture Committee marked up Farm Bill 2.0, the Agricultural Act of 2026, with over 200 amendments on Thursday, August 6. The Committee lacked enough votes to advance the bill because of partisan division related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Like the House Farm Bill, the Senate version contains several provisions that would benefit horticulture and specialty crop industries. Please contact your senators and encourage them to support passing a bipartisan Farm Bill in the Senate.
