ACTION ALERT – There’s a recession. Tell Congress we don’t need the H-2B visa program!
The Trump administration has halted issuing new H-2B visas through the end of the year, but that came only after it previously raised the number of annual visas by an additional 35,000.
Tell Congress that the H-2B visa program should be reduced or eliminated.
H-2B visas are temporary, nonagricultural work authorizations. The largest sectors are construction and landscaping. Since the program’s launch in 1990, the number of H-2B visas has increased eight-fold, with the number peaking at around 100,000 in recent years.
This program displaces American workers and depresses wages. Americans will do these jobs, especially since millions of workers have lost jobs during the pandemic recession.
Ask your Senators and Representative to support this measure to protect American workers and reduce, reform, or eliminate the H-2B program.
