Make Sure Gov. Meyer Opts-In to the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit on Behalf of Students in Delaware
Starting in 2027, the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC) will let taxpayers redirect up to $1,700 of their federal income taxes to nonprofit scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) that provide financial assistance for eligible students.  Both Catholic school and public school attendees can benefit from this dollar-for-dollar tax credit. The funds can be used to grant scholarships for not only tuition, but for tutoring, special needs, supplies or technology, and other expenses.

If Governor Meyer does not opt-in, Delaware residents who choose to utilize the Tax Credit will see their money leave the state to be added to the SGO of a state that has opted in.  Because this program is a federal tax credit, there is no cost to Delaware to opt in! If Delaware participates, this program could generate significant additional funds to support the needs of students throughout Delaware. The only thing we need from Governor Meyer is for him to say "yes" to let our students access their future and better educational opportunities!

Governor Meyer is on the clock!  Urge him to opt-in to the FSTC by January 1, 2027 on behalf of students in Delaware, the future of education in the First State depends on it!
