The Fiscal Year 2026 budget proposal for the U.S. Department of Education includes the elimination of the Javits program, and the House Appropriations Committee has followed suit. This would result in fewer states offering gifted education programs, widening the excellence gap and limiting our nation’s ability to support learners at the highest achievement levels. Thankfully, the Senate maintains the Javits program in their spending proposal. Please join your colleagues to oppose the elimination of the Javits program and to support funding in Fiscal Year 2026.
