Preserving Progress with Medicaid
Medicaid is a successful program that helps millions of people in our state get the care they need to stay healthy, work, and care for their families. It also strengthens our healthcare system, especially for low-income and rural communities.

For people living with chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, or autoimmune conditions, Medicaid is often the only consistent source of care. It provides access to doctors, medications, and therapies that keep people stable and working — even during times of job loss or transition. Without this coverage, many would delay treatment, leading to health crises that result in higher costs and greater strain on emergency departments. Medicaid helps people manage their health, avoid preventable complications, and live more independently — reducing long-term healthcare spending for both states and individuals.

Right now, federal funding is at risk, and states could be left holding the bag, forced to make cuts that keep people and communities from being able to see doctors and get medicine.

Urge your elected officials to stand up for Medicaid and protect basic access to health care.
